Alexis Clements, Host & Producer

Alexis is an award-winning writer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York (formerly Canarsie and Lenape land). Her creative work has been published, produced, and screened in venues across the US, as well as in Europe, South America, and Asia. Her first film, a feature-length documentary, All We’ve Got, focuses on LGBTQ women’s spaces at a time when many are closing. The film premiered in October 2019 in New York City and has since screened around the globe. Her play, Unknown, also premiered in October 2019 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Other plays of hers have been produced, published, and anthologized across the US and the UK over the past two decades. In addition, her prose writing has appeared in The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Guardian, Bitch Magazine, American Theatre, The Brooklyn Rail, and Nature, among others. She is also a regular contributor to Hyperallergic. She is currently serving as a volunteer Coordinator at the Lesbian Herstory Archives where she co-founded Little Rainbows, a story time for queer youth and their caretakers and parents. alexisclements.com

Ali Cotterill, Co-Producer & Editor

Ali is a filmmaker and editor based in Brooklyn, New York (formerly Canarsie and Lenape land). As a filmmaker, her films have screened at 100+ festivals around the world, won several awards, and been broadcast on Logo TV and Current TV. Her feature directorial debut, North Pole, NY, premiered at IFF Boston 2018 and picked up the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Indie Street Film Festival. As an editor, she’s edited 250+ short doc films for Fortune 500 companies and non-profits alike. She also edited and co-wrote the documentary feature United in Anger: A History of ACT UP, which premiered at MOMA’s Documentary Fortnight (World Premiere) and Hot Docs (Canadian Premiere) and won Best Documentary at the Milan and Pittsburgh LGBT film festivals.
